==Life==

Leipzig, 1901〕 In 1831, he became the First Organist at the Bernhardinkirche in his hometown.〔Riemann, Hugo: ''Geschichte der Musik seit Beethoven'', p.657. Leipzig, 1901〕 Considered one of the most important organists in Germany, he also excited audiences in Paris and London with his virtuosic pedalwork.
